What we've been up to...

So we've been locked away working on new songs and here in all its muffled glory is pretty much a first take of one of them. Doesn't Olly look like he's enjoying it...

Yeah, sorry for the bad audio but you can get the general idea, right?

Old Skool Snaps

We are currently recording some new songs in Milk Studios in East London. Here are some photos taken with Andrew's Polaroid camera and how fitting and precious they are after realising that the last ever batch of Polaroid film produced was to reach its sell by date on the very evening the photographs were taken!

See here for more details,
'Polaroid: Exp 09.10.09’

But before you get too upset, read on. Thanks to the excellent work by those involved with the impossible-project we can hope to see a Polaroid comeback sometime in 2010.

We'll let you know how the recording went when we go back in to finish tomorrow night but so far its sounding great!

We will be back in the area quite soon, in fact, as we'll be playing at Power's on Friday 26th June.

Kicking Stones

For some reason I always picture a ruddy faced Dr. Samuel Johnson when I imagine him kicking that stone in anger. In response to the philosopher George Berkeley's view that we can only directly know what exists from our perceptions and have no way of knowing if what is actually 'out there' exists, Johnson famously kicked a stone stating, "I refute it thus!". The beauty of this is that although many people did think Berkeley was insane and despite it being so contrary to common sense it is impossible to refute his theory.
On the subject of Samuel Johnson, he really hated puns, believing that they are the lowest form of humour. Well, if a pun is the lowest form of humour, poetry is much verse. ha see what I did there. I'm really sorry.

Anyway the point of all this is to let you know that Fuzz Valentine have a new song called Kicking Stones and we will be playing it live so come and see us!

Harajuku!

We just played a brilliant night called Harajuku!

It was a really interesting night put on by the lovely innovators at Criminal Records. We got to play with some great bands. For me, and for most of the crowd i think i can safely say, the absolute pick of the bunch were No Cars.

They were so much fun and had some great songs complete with Bob Dylan style placards and even a naked dancing guy at the end!
